Default Questions about dash tweeters / 4x6 replacements

I replaced the 4 door speakers in my 98 Jimmy and took the dash grills off and found out I had tweeters. The driver side one is hooked up with a red and black wire.

Here are a few questions I have because I've never messed with separate tweeters:

1. The driver side tweeter is wired with a red and black wire -- where are these actually wired from?

2. Are there any aftermarket tweeters in the same configuration (i.e. tweeter built in to a bracket which is held into the dash by two screws) or are they all the type that require cutting/custom locations? Edit: I might have found one. http://goo.gl/Jx7pV

3. Would there be any benefit in putting 4x6 speakers in their place...if so, how would the wiring need to be done? Edit: might actually go the 4" route instead and slap them in with 4x6 adapter plates. I'm still curious how the wiring would work...or if it would even be safe.

Thanks everyone!

My 95 never came with speakers in the dash. I installed 4 inch speakers, and wired them to the Front out on my head unit. I then installed new 6.5 inch speakers in my doors and wired them to the Rear output on my head unit. My rear doors are wired to a amp on my back seat, with audio cables running from the back of my stereo to the amp. Running 6 speakers on a head unit isn't really good for it. It's a good way to overload the HU, or fry it completely. :/ If you really want to keep tweeters in the dash, I'd recommend using a Component system so you can put tweets in the dash, and 6.5's in the doors, and still have them wired to the Head unit.
