Dash Tweeters: Take out or leave in?
Hello fellow Crazers,
I can't get enough of this forum! This is my first post so bear with me please. I have a 1997 Blazer LT 4 dr 4x4 and I recently replaced the factory radio with an Alpine CDE-HD137BT (18x4 RMS). I'll be replacing all four 6.5" door speakers ASAP, but my Blazer also has the small dash tweeters. I understand these are most likely wired into the front door speakers. My question is should I leave the tweeters in when I install the new 2-ways in the front doors? The ohm load on the head unit is my main concern. I will tweak the sound as needed, but I just don't want those stock tweeters to cause problems. I will most likely remove them, but do i just cover the remaining wire ends? Tie them together? Any advice would be awesome! Thank you.
