Default Radio Compatability

I have a 96 Blazer with the stock AM/FM/Cassette. It's on the fritz.

I have an opportunity to acquire a stockAM/FM/CD unit from a 97 Blazer.

Would anyone know if it will fit? Plug and play? different connectors or mounting?

Thanks!

Depends on what interior in in the 97. If i remember right i dont think the interior changed to the new style until 98so the dashand radio should be the same. As for the plug i know for a fact its the same because its the same one GM has been using for years until just very recently. Logic tells me it should pop right in and work just peachy.

Good to know, since I have the same setup - '96 Blazer with the cassette player. Mine still works fine, and I've just been using one of those portable CD players with the cassette adaptor. However, I will keep this in mind for when I start doing interior upgrades. Thanks.
