I'm gonna wire the subs and amp soon and i have a quick question about running the wires to the front. I was wondering where i should runthe power, ground, remote, and rca cables? Because i could run them threw the right side panel and then under the sill plate, but i looked and the sill plate is way to shallow to run two 4 gauge wires, rca cables, and a remote wire (that could be run under it, but would like to run all the wires in one place). My dad said to run em through the center, but not sure exactly how to. So if u guys with two doors have systems, u shouldno where they should go, please tell me where u put them (guys with foor doors whonocan say something too). And please tell me soon pleasecuz i might wireit tomorrow (not trying to sound pushy).

 

I ran all my wires down the sill and there is plenty of room! Remember that your gonna want to keep your ground as short as possible, That beingsaid you can tack your ground to one of the Rear Seat bolts. It worked great for me. Where you gonna put your sub? I have mine in a box designed for a reg cab truck andI mounted it directly behind the rear seat being tied down to the factory tie downs in the rear there.

 

The best place to run power wire into the cab is through the antenna grommet on the firewall in the footwell of the passenger side. From inside the cab pull the carpet back from the very front edge, cut an X smaller than the diameter of the wire you're running and push the wire through the rubber grommet. Then from the engine bay you can route it however you like to the battery. Where it comes near the exhaust manifolds, I put some aluminum foil around the wire for heat protection. It's hardly noticeable with the hood open.
Running it under the carpet is up to you and also depends on where you're mounting your amp.

It is also best to run your RCAs separate from the power wire to avoid interference.

 

you should be able to fit everything under the sil plate. I did it but with only one 4ga wire. You should run the power and RCA's on separate sides though.

 

I forgot that the ground doesn't go to the front, my bad. I looked under the sill plate and it looked like it wouldn't fit a 4 gauge wire, but i will still try it. I got a prebuilt MTX Audio box that has a 80 degree rear slant, which will sit right up against the back seat. I'm gonna mount the amp right on top and a cap on the right side.

 

For space's sake, consider mounting the amp on the wall. I can't tell you how many times i've taken my sub out to fit something in the back. You can see pics of my install in my cardomain pages.

I ran all my cables through the center other than the power wire and its a pain in the ***.

 

The door sill has some thin plastic supports underneath (running perpendicular in relation to the door sill) that can be cut away to allow for more room underneath.

 

Im gonna mount the amp on the top cuz it would be a little easier. My friend, who knows a lot bout car audio, said since that im gonna be running a high wattage (around 900 most of the time) that i should get a 1 farad capacitor. The guy at the audio store said he doesn't like caps at all and i should get a seperate battery, but that would a big project, so i got a Stinger1 farad cap (its pretty much 1 farad=1000 watts of power) for $89, aStinger 4 gauge kit for $75, andTsunami RCA cables for $12. Just FYI i paid $129.99 for 2 MTX Audio 12"s and a MTX Audio Amp.
