and if bluray wins the hd battle, it will be a huge boost for them.
So far, i've heard blu-ray is winning the disc player sales. Plus it sounds like blu-ray is the better quality format. I won't be investing in either anytime soon though.

Directed arent the best out there, but I would definately put them above sony...Make sure you are matching ohm loads and power ratings man. Not matching your subs to your amp usually results in a very depressing outcome...

I would advise you not to talk to a salesman. Some are trustworthy but most of them will lie to get you to buy something. If you could tell me what model JL's you have an what the voice coil configuration is I could reccomend a few amps that are decently priced for you...

That model came in three diffirent configs so once you find out which one it shouldnt be hard to find a decent amp at a good price. 600wrms doesnt cost too much in the mid-grade amplifier category...

Since you have two Dual 4's then you will need an amp that does 600wrms at 1 or 4 ohms. It looks like the directed amp is rated 600wrms @ 1ohm, so that amp should work just fine. You'll most likely only get 450-500wrms out of it but that should be plenty to run those subs...
