Recently me left dash speaker has started to glitch alot.
Most of the time its just dead, occasionaly when driving on bumpy roads it kicks in then to be dead after a while.

I checked the radio, nothing wrong with it. so i figure its the connector on the speaker that must be glitching.

Is this a common problem with the blazers ?

Anyone have any experience with this before?
Best way to check the speaker connection ?

Sounds like your cable may be coming loose from your speaker. Just pull that speaker out and make sure the harness is in there good. Should just be 2 screws holding in the plate that covers it.

 

ok, i removed the 2 screws and removed the cover, to be able to get the speaker out, there was some more screws, wich i didnt have with me today... but now the speaker is working currently so il leave it until it stops again

 

okay, so the left side went dead on me again.

the speaker in the driver door is dead, the speaker in the dash plays verry high tones verry low... its not the connection behind the stereo....
is there like a connector somewhere for all the left side speakers?

 

No there isn't a dedicated connection just for left and right speakers. Only 3 problems it could be is 1) You have a wiring problem from your headunit to your speaker or 2) (unlikely) Your left channels on your headunit are dead or 3) Your left speakers are dead. What i would do is pull the HU and splice into the speaker wire from your headunit and plug into your speaker. If it plays its a wiring problem. If not then your left with either speaker or the HU. Test with one of your good speakers and if it plays then you need new speakers. If not... get a new headunit.

 

It has to be the wireing, actually i tried with 3 diffrent HUs and for every one of them i had these symptoms.

Where should i start looking at the cables ?

How does the cables run from the HU ?`

HU -> Dash Speaker -> Door Speaker ?

 

I wouldn't even look for the fault in the wire honestly. Id say go to wally world and pick up a spool or two of speaker wire and run some new stuff. It'll help in the long run. Especially if you decide to upgrade your speakers in the future. But if you wanna find the fault id start by looking in between the doors and see if it was pinched inside the grommet

 

these ac delco speakers are very poorly made. they will just go out for no reason at all. i would just say replace the speakers.

 

yea, id go ahead and do that too... they are really crappy.
