I'd recommend either polk or infinity. I have had good experience with both speakers. stay away from sony, pioneer, dual, an vr3 stuff otherwise known as the "walmart brands"

ah yes. Brands really depend on what you like to listen to. polk and boston acoustics are good for instrumental music such as rock, country, jazz ect. JL audio and Kicker are good for "bassy" music such as techno, pop, rap ect. Infinity and kenwood are good just all around speakers they sound good with rock and rap. Also alpine speakers a good too not sure what they are good with my guess is rap. if you aren't looking at spending a lot of money look into powerbass speakers. My friend has them in his bmw and they sound really good for being $80 components

Wow, i haven't been on in like 2 days and i missed this... When you're getting coaxial speakers there isnt a point in 4 ways. 3 ways are supposedly tweeter, mid, and mid bass. 2 ways are tweeter and mid bass. Powerbass are really good loud speakers, amps, and subs but they aren't quality speakers like JL, Alpine, Infinity, or even Kenwood. They aren't visionik or hifonics either though...

I've always sworn by Pioneer if you just want some cheap, good drop in speakers.
