Speaker Wiring
I'm looking for a speaker wiring diagram for a 2004 Chevy Blazer. I'm putting in new speakers and I don't know what the wire colors are.

RE: Speaker Wiring
the search function works great on this forum.
12v constant is Orange -
12v switched is dk green(larger wire) -
ground is black,
ignore the grey and brown, for must and illumination. don't worry about them
Speakers are
Left Front
Tan is positive - connect to solid gray
Grey is negative - connect to gray with black tracer
Rt Front
Lt Green is Positive - connect to solid white
Dk Green is Negative - connect to white with black tracer
Left Rear
Brown is positive - connect to solid green
Yellow(smaller wire) is Negative - connect to green with black tracer
Rt Rear
Positive is Dk. Blue - connect to solid purple wire
Negative is Lt. Blue - connect to purple with black tracer
thats it. please use some kind of crimpers (crimp caps, butt connectors) on the wiring connections. tape is not sufficient

RE: Speaker Wiring
yea, the only change in the wiring for blazers and S10s is the color of the 12v constant and the iginition. From 2001 to current, all colors are the same but 12v switched is now dk green.

RE: Speaker Wiring
Be careful if the truck has bose, factory amplified systems oft use speakers with different resistances than aftermarket companies use. Bose systems used to use 1 ohm speakers, but in a 2004 I honestly can't comment. Depending on the factory resistance, the aftermarket 4 ohm will either limit the power going through them if 4 ohm is higher than factory, or overload the factory amp if it's lower.
