There may be a couple extra. There will be like a dimmer wire that you won't need (I think it is orange). The wires should be color coordinated, at least the ones I have done are, just match the wires up with each other. There should also be a color chart with the harness and one with the deck, just match them up that way. If there are wires that are used on the harness, then the deck doesn't need them.

The ground is in the wire harness, should be black. Check out this link, it should help (if it works)

whoa whoa whoa...take that nasty harness back.

Go to circuit city, and get some smart harnesses. If you're caught up on where to 'ground' the radio..youre better off just getting the smart harness than trying to match wiring colors and solder.

At CCity, you get the Pioneer to 16 pin universal harness (replaces the one that comes with the radio), and you get a GM to universal harness. Then you plug the two universals into each other...done. Then just plug in your antenna adapter (you did get one of those right?), and push the radio back in.

With smart harnesses, it's seriously like a 15 min install.

well, here in the awesome city of rochester mn we dont have a circuit city, only thing we got is best buy. i did not get a antenna adapter. and the ground is the harness that came with the radio itself. I did get a gm universal harness.

got it installed tonight, looks and performs awesome. Very clean, quick question when i took off the dash i found a red led light is it supposed to be there?

directly above the stereo, no alarm and no auto lock. im thinkin it might have been for looks.
