RE: sub ?
depends how cold, im in canada, and she gets purdy cold here too.
Play them at a low level for a while 1st, till they warm up, it dosent take long........gradually increase volume. If its -40 or colder I usually dont play em at all......unless its a long trip and they have time towarm up.....
I had a PPI DCX 15 a year or so ago and the glue holding the surround deteriorated, im guessing it was weather related....I also had 2 PPI C1 12's and the surround did the same thing on one, when it was really cold they would frost up and be quiet stiff, yet to see that with my R's........weird..........
in short i dont recommend blasting them in cold weather.....how cold are we talking here?

RE: sub ?
Yeah, it kinda depends on what you call cold, lol
When it hits -30 or colder, and I had command start, I had the stereo come on and by the time the windows were defrosted and the interior was warm, the subs were generally good to go...

RE: sub ?
well its not going to be -40 any time soon lol but it does get in to the single digits quite a bit lol

RE: sub ?
Farenheight, or celcius? lol

RE: sub ?
shouldnt matter, single digits are peanuts, you will be fine.
when it hits -40*C then you got problems

RE: sub ?
Exactly!
If you want to be on the safe side, just don't crank it for the first minute or two, at those temps.
It's really for _any_ speaker, not just subs... It's just more likely to cause problems when a sub does it due to the amount of movment...
