Okay i feel really stupid posting on this but i've never used my tape deck..it's mounted below the dash on the center console... but i bought a satellite radio and want to use a tape input device to eliminate static. When i put the cassette adaptor into the tape deck it doesn't stay in...it just pops out. Is there something i'm missing? Is it broken likely? Will it even still work with an aftermarket deck installed? thanks.

The wire coming from the tape could be causing a problem..it depends on how its inserted.
If it is broken, i would just go aftermarket...there are a lot of affordable units that have SAT ready and aux inputs and such for compatibility with other devices...if you listen to music at all its a worthy investment.

Now that i think of it, the wiring going to the factory deck probably isnt' connected anymore anyways right? My deck is sirius ready so i probably just have to buy an apaptor to plug into the back of it?

well even if it is, one of your problems is still the tape constantly popping out..
lol i dont have much experience with tapde decks and such so i really couldn't tell you...but id double check all wiring to make sure.
