I am running 4awg from alt to battery, grounds, and all the way back to the amp, and I am pushing about 800w to 1 12"... not a single problem. even when AC or heat is on high, headlights are on too.

also, the factory alt will be find as well. most of the time I never drop below 14v
0 gauge is not useless at all. I wouldnt even bother putting 4 gauge up front. Current takes the path of least resistance, hense 0 gauge being used for maximum flow of current. 800w to one 12" sub is not a lot of power at all. I highly doubt you would of even needed to upgrade your wiring.

OP get some 1/0 welding cable and brass lugs from Home Depot / Lowes and you will be fine. With that little bit of power you dont need anymore batteries or a HO alternator
