Upgrading speakers
#31
lol yea I like my little ported box. its easy to move around if I have to put stuff in the back and it doesn't take up much space. and if I need a lot of extra space I only have to unhook the speaker wires and its out
with 2 12" subs you need 2 people to lift them out and there isn't much trunk space and you run a higher risk of beating them up since they take up more space.

Ditto on beating the subs up, but i disagree w/the needing 2 people to lift the 12's. lol I lugged my loaded dual 15 inch enclosure into my blazer w/o much problem. lol

I went with 2 4x6 2 way Rockford Fosgate speakers to replace the tweeters in my dash. I wired them using the rear door speaker output. I also replaced the 6.5" speakers in the front doors with some 6.5" Rockford Fosgate 3 way speakers. They're hooked up to my 50W Pioneer HU. They sound amazing (very loud and great sound quality), I was very impressed with the final result. For bass I downsized from two Kicker 15" L7's wired to one ohm with 2200w rms to each sub in a 10 cubic foot vented box I built, powered by an MA Audio 4400w amp, to a single JL 10" W3 hooked up to a JL 250/1v2 in a Probox sealed enclosure. IMO the single JL sub is simply amazing and is perfect for any music genre. Plus I got my cargo room back!!!
