What are the best speakers?
I have Infiniti Kappa 6.5' in my doors, and Kappa 5x7' in the rear of my current car, they sound great, don't get me wrong, but if you want bass in JUST interiors w/o subs, don't get these, Kappas are definately for clarity, and power handling, not bass... If you want to add subs down the road Kappas are awesome, you would never be able to drown out the treble, never...

[align=left]Hehe, yeah, my stock speakers had more bass than these Kappas as well, bass distorts these like crazy after a certain volume... Oh well I guess i'll just get a sub soon... TYPE-R 12' i'm thinking...

Planning on trying something a little different...I have the 2-dr, so it's 6x9s in the back. If you read my introduction thread you know that I got this rig in part to haul the dogs around, so I won't be putting a sub box (or anything else that reduces my interior space) in the truck.
It had this amp in it already when I bought it: http://www.woofersetc.com/index.cfm?...roduct_id=4281
and from what I can tell the front speakers (door & dash) are connected to it, while the rears are still connected to the factory cd changer. The sub out is not being used.
The plan is, in addition to getting better quality front speakers, to install these in the rear:
http://www.partsexpress.com/pe/showd...number=264-837
They'll be connected mono/parallel to the sub out on the amp...they're 8ohm, so parallel wiring would show the amp 4ohms...it's stable to 2, I think, but I'm not trying to push anything.
I don't need any more mids/highs than the front speakers are giving me, so I don't need full range in the rear. The hope is that they put out enough bass...meaning they match the fronts, not rattle the bolts off the truck. We'll see...the spec says they hit down to 35hz, which is plenty low. It's gonna be a while before I do this, but when I do, I'll let the forum know the results.

ya, im very happy with my reference series 4x6 plates. besides the blown tweeter on the passenger side [:'(]
very cheap online aswell, id say they're worth the extra 30 or so dollars over pioneers

Oddly enough, now that I've got my Alpine deck mounted (matching up all the colors on the wires for the speakers and such... Though, it took me a bit to find the RIGHT +12 ignition lead...) When I adjust the fade on my deck, they're reversed, lol.
Though, the 6x9s do seem a fair bit quieter compared to what they were with the stock deck... It just sounds a lot cleaner...

I didn't even know anything about it until I got the truck home & Googled the amp. Guess I lucked out in the audio department.
Most of the sites I saw that sold 'em were overseas, tho. Strange.
