Where did you place the ground for your amplifier?? Suggestions...
I have a 2001 blazer 4 door and i have hooked up 2 amplifiers on the rear of my seats on those little panel things that go up and down when you put the seats down/up. I have my amplifier grounds on one of those metal things where the bolt goes, I have cut the little rubber-ish peice of carpet that was there to get contact with chasis... Is this a good spot or should i find another spot?? Because when i turn up my volume, my sub cuts out and i feel as if i dont have a good ground. I have sanded the area down a bit. My amplifier uses 4 gauge power wire, i have a strand of 1/0 oxygen free tsunami compotition power wire. Would that be better than the 4 gauge oxygen free copper power wire that is there already?? Where do you have your grounds positioned?? Input is greatly appriciated THNX
Give it some time, bro.
Not everyone here has done a sound system in their truck.

you can do as the other guy said and bolt it down to the seat posts. thats what i had till i moved everything to the rear of the truck. otherwise, you can do what i did for my new grounds. completely sand any area until it is bare metal, get some sheet metal screws, drill a hole a little smaller then the screw because they are self tapping. otherwise you can find any other bold and sand that down and youll be good.
I did the same thing as slammed95 did. Scraped off the coating or whatever then sand down to metal and use a self tapping screw. No problems with amps shutting off or running hot. I also did the big 3 and a few other extra grounds. Remember with grounds the bigger and shorter the wire the better.
i use phillips head self tapers, and a crimp on copper ring. sand to bare metal and make a new hole. i also usually run the big 3 and extra Frame-2-Chassis straps (about 6 for a blazer) just to make sure its good.
