One other thing I told GM about the Blazer that might be helpful to other owners. When I first got the Blazer, I noticed the downshifting when stopping the Blazer was noticeable. It felt like the brakes were pulsing like anti lock braking is supposed to pump the brakes, so I did an experiment by putting the car in neutral when braking and it was smooth, so, the downshifting was noticeably jerky. I had never driven a 9 speed before, so I just assumed the downshifting was that way. Now with 20/20 vision, I suspect this torque converter slippage issue was happening on day 1. Do other Blazer owners with the 9 speed notice this jerky downshifting?

They still have the Blazer for the slippage in the tranny. They gave me a 2022 fully loaded Jeep Wagoneer V8 rental car, so no complaints about the time, but concerned they may not have a solution other than replacing the entire tranny. They said a torque converter is on it's way from Michigan (code word for Mexico they both start with M), but how long can that take? The next question is to keep the Blazer or not keep it because suspecting the 9 speed might be a lemon. Is the tranny in the new V8 Tahoe's just as bad?

Update: The new torque converter didn't fix the problem. My drive home from Las Vegas to Los Angeles with a bad torque converter appears to have damaged the tranny, so a new tranny is on order. More updates in about 10 days. This 9 speed might be a lemon. I would love to see stats on it. It in Buick, GMC, and Caddy's, so there are a lot of them out there for data collection.

Sorry to hear it didn't work. I'm sure it felt like a long drive.

I got the Blazer back today. It seems to run well. Tranny seems better than the first time I drove it, so I suspect that tranny was doomed from day 1. I also got contact from GM about the Lemon Law. They asked me a lot of questions like did I modify the car etc. They are going to process my case and see if they will give me a full refund of my purchase price. I don't know what to do if they offer me a new 2023 Blazer. If I can trust that 9 speed tranny or not. If they offer me a Tahoe, I will take that. HAHA I got a Vegas trip planned in a few weeks, so that will be a test drive of the new tranny.

Thanks for the update. A new Blazer would be a good deal as long as it has all the option type microchips

GM called me on the phone with their offer and expected me to answer on the phone. I requested everything in writing before I decide. There was a lot of verbiage over the phone and from what I gathered, GM did NOT offer me a full refund of my purchase price. It would be a trade-in value which is unacceptable. They did offer me a new 2023 Blazer with similar packaging, but 2023 doesn't have a dark gray like mine, so the blackout doesn't work as well. I don't want black because how dirt shows on black. Color was the most important to me when selecting the 2021 Blazer with a V6. Here is a photo of my Blazer next to my SS which is Nightfall Gray Metallic. So, you can say I like grays.

Very nice looking car. Too bad you're having trouble with it. Is the dealer willing to help dealing with GM?
