love the build, giving me some ideas on my 2 doo. I've been trying to track down some offset s10 rims pretty much since I got the thing 2 months ago, I need a lift and half decent tires and then im sure the list will grow more and more with every build thread I look at.

I've been on the fence of selling or trading my Blazer but I got some leftover student loan money and decided that I would be slightly irresponsible and buy a couple things for the Blazer so I'm going to hold out on getting rid of it. I should have some big changes coming soon so this is a heads up. I just need some time to get everything put on. Can't wait!

Well my battery decided it was time to stop working, which I had anticipated happening sooner or later, so I went ahead and got a new one. Since I couldn't find any dual post batteries in stock anywhere, and didn't have the time to wait for one to get shipped, I went ahead and got a red top optima from auto zone.

Here she is sitting all nice and pretty. It came with a three year warranty so hopefully it'll last a little longer than that.

So I might be getting a ford 8.8 to go in the rear but I'm having a little trouble deciding what would be the best front axle. I'm town between a HP Dana 30 or a Dana 44. The 30 would be easier for me to find but I know the 44 is stronger. The 8.8 is 63 5/8" from wms to wms, what might be the best axle to try and match that width? I'm really thinking the 44 but I could use some other opinions. Thanks guys!

PS: I'm looking to run 35's, MAYBE 37's but most likely going to stick with 35's which is why I'm still considering a Dana 30

I'd definitely go with the 44. And possibly a 9 inch rear instead of the 8.8, heard a lot of bad things about the 8.8

Like what? I've really only been seeing good things about it. The one thing that everyone has been saying to to have the tubes welded but other than that I haven't heard anything poor about the axle.

I was gonna say the tubes! lol I know a guy that had his welded, and just recently broke the welds and twisted a tube while rock crawling. I guess it really depends on how much off road abuse you're gonna put it through.

Well, I went and got something today...

and for only $280. They're all dana 44's and they came out of the same truck so they're matching gear sets and everything. They need a little tlc but they'll surely get it. There are two front axles since one has good hubs and the other has good tubes and gears. The only concern I have is that they have 3.55 gears in them so I'm not sure if I'm going to try running 35's on those or set up something like 4.10 gears. The guy said he's ran 35's without a problem before but I'm not sure how hard he wheeled it and I'd rather be safer than sorry. They'll probably sit for now until I get some time from school and work but they're a start for getting my baby 4wd and sitting pretty.
