My blazer has some kind of problem , any more than 1/4 throttle and it breaks up and blows black smoke out the exhaust . I can"t tell if its the carb or the timing or the ignition box has a rev limiter in it and that could be malfunctioning . It has been doing this for awhile , even at the mud race , it really pisses me off because I can only get about 2500 to 3500 rpm and then she starts tapping out . It idles great and runs great up 3500 rpm at the most then its like the rev limiter engages but its set for 9900 rpm because I know it wont get close to that now .

Edit : problem sovled , I bought a new air cleaner assembly for the new edelbrock 600 carb and its apparently to small ,as soon as I took it off my truck came back to life , now she sounds like a race car/ truck again . I better go out and turn my rev limiter back down now , and maybe go back up and try that hole out with full power .

Yea I broke it and not where I thought It would break . And it wasn't that hard to do , I'm on the hunt for some 44s until I can save enough money for the 2 1/2 ton rockwells . The dana 30s were safe when my engine was getting choked to death but now that it has full power there worthless .I'm almost positive I could rebuild this dana 30 and blow it apart agian in less than a minute of mudding . Anybody need some dana 30 axles LOL .
