The oil filter won't fit in the location it's at , but it almost does so I didn't want to really go with the remote oil filter again , I found a oil filter adapter that rotates the oil filter to the front of the engine for $79.99 + shipping through Jegs . Been looking into a nitrous kit , I think it will be just what I need to get the 150 ft mark the fastest . The axles that I want are a little harder to find than I anticipated , I'll still be able to get them but I'll surly be paying more . The axles that I want are out of a 82 jeep grand Cherokee .

This is gonna be a cool build. Im thinking about a V8 swap sometime for mine, but Im going to keep the IFS as I just dont have the time or place to do much heavier than a motor swap. I cant weld for crud either.

If I went with a Chevy engine the swap would probably be not to bad , not that the 302 was bad but I had to make all the mounts and oil pan . As for the sas no problem its all bolted on no welding needed , at least the kit I'm looking at does . I gotta say I can't wait for my first mud run .

Today was pretty nice out so I had to get out and do some work . Measured out where I have to cut the hole in the floor for the 4x4 shifter , Its going to come up through the floor right between the seats , right where I was hoping it would . I will get the hole cut tomorrow and the shifter in and get some pics . I also sorted out some of the wiring , so everything is hooked up right , I think . .

Lighted skull shift lever , this is my 4wd shift lever handle

I was bored last night so I went out and got the 4wd shift lever installed , I did have to heat it up and put one little bend in it , but it looks great . I can set straight in my seat and get all gears with moving only my arm . It looks like it was meant to be there .

I got so much done today , I got rid of all the old wiring from the 4.3 . Also I removed the heater motor and all the stuff I could on the fire wall . Got my transmission dip stick tube installed , and Installed a different radio . And primed the oil pump ( till it came to where the oil filter should be ) .

I think it looks so much better

And my matco flash light , any mechanic know you need a good one of these .

Alright I think I'm done for the day .

Thanks Gio , I'm going to install the temp gauge tomorrow , and I would like to get the transmission lines and the radiator hoses hooked up . I'm also always thinking about how exactly I want to do my fire wall , and I'll show you when I'm done . It should look bad a-- .
