1997 blazer sas solid axle swap
i wanted to part out the jeep but im only 19 and still living with mom lol
the jeep couldn't sit on the property, have no way to remove car once the axle was out do have a father in law with a flat bed but I hate asking for favors and he thinks everything im doing to the blazer is crazy, and didn't want to pay for two retail fees of trailer.
I really wanted to take the rear axle out and whole drivetrain

so today I started to clean up the axle and two of the leaf spring eye bushing I will show my way I of getting out.

so I put my small torch on a brick and let it do work

wait until it starts melting rubber and you can try to start hammering out

sometimes the bolt comes out without rubber just hammer

thinking of having axle sand blasted at my house because it took to long to get little bit cleaned up with an air angle grinder

Well, that's one way to get the bolts and bushings out...
You can drive a small cold chisel into the gap where the spring wraps around the bushing and nearly touches the flat part of the leaf. Then the whole bushing with seized bolt will tap through.

Glad to see another build. My wagoneer spring bushings were so seized in there the only way i could get them out was how you did it.... I'm running 430 gears in my blazer with 35s, and it has plenty of low end way more than it did from the factory. Also its not bad at highway speeds. You are probably going to need one of these
if you plan on replacing the balljoints mine has locking sleeves on the uppers and yours more than likely will too. part stores charge about double for the tool figured ied help save you a headache looking for it.

thats how i usually do them too, even on s10s at work i do them on the drive on lift, i just ilft the truck on the center of the axle. take a big ratchet strap and hook it to the leaf and back down to the lift, pull it down far and burn away. after i knock out the center like you did i take a air hammer and blow out the sleeve. dirty stinky messy job but oh so fun
