Pretty sure D44's don't use a crush sleeve, they use shims to set pinion preload.

ok so guys i need help so i have a 6 lug front axle and 5 lug rear axle 6 lug rims

1)so wheel adapters are scarey becasue they are a 2 piece so no

2)possible get rims drilled, for a 5 lug and 6 lug on the rims, but there might not be enough meat on the rim to get it drilled for 5 lug

3)ok so you know on the end of the rear axle shafts where the lugs go on i guess you can call it a hub but i dont think of it as one, i can maybe have it and the drums drilled for a 6 lug

4) so as im calling it the rear axle shaft hub, are they removeable, like if i bring it to a machinest would they be able to becasue sence i have a 10 bolt rear axle and a silverado 1500 has a 10 bolt rear axle and only difference is lenght can i swap the rear axle shaft hub from one vehicle

5) can i have a silverado's axle shafts shorted which im pretty sure i can, but this choice is going to be alittle more $ then others ( getting the axle shafts and the work) axle shafts are alittle pricey and how strong would this choice be

6) swap the rear axle which i really dont want to do i rather drive around with different rims lol

please give me your opinions i need help my head is going to explode

If it were me id swap in a 6 lug D44 rear... OR just get new wheels that are 5 lug if you want to keep your 8.5 ten bolt.

money is a factor on getting a rear axle and it will be to high in the rear because isn't a waggy or most 44 rear axles leaf over axle in the rear ?

Depends what the axle came out of... might be SOA or SUA in the rear. You could reweld them SUA if you really wanted.

Regardless the spring perches would have to be moved because they wouldnt be the correct width for a blazer.

arent passport and Isuzu rears the same width on the perches I don't have a welder and cant welder great I know people that do but its more of a hassle
im getting a quote on 6 lug 30 spline full size axles then have them shortened if the price is right anymore happen to know if the axle shaft its self is the same diameter im 99% sure they are

so for a update I have a lot of parts to install on axle going to primer and paint with por15 still need to buy ring and pinion ord kit is going next wendesday =] plan on bolting on before I start cutting stuff out.

so was looking around on the web and was learning about semi floating and full floating axles so I believe my 44 is a full floater which is rarer if im correct which is cool

rodeo rears are 39.5"... s10's are 38.5" IIRC. Might be able to make that work if you wallow out the center hole in the perch a little.

As long as the fullsize shafts don't neck down in diameter or anything weird you should be able to have them cut / re splined and make it work. Just remember that youll have to re drill your rotors/drums (not even sure if you can going from 5 to 6). Unless you can figure out a way to make the fullsize stuff work.
