So I picked up a new Blazer about 2 weeks ago. Since I got it I have

1. Serviced both front abs sensors to shut off the abs light and activation at low speed
2. Coolant flush
3. Trans filter and fluid flush Valvoline high milage
4. Front and Rear diff flush All lucas synthetics
5. Transfer case flush (Weird Blue GM fluid that looks like they bled out avatars for...) only available at the dang dealer
6. Rear brake pads, rotors, slide pins, and boots. (Whoever owned it before never greased them)
7. Rear output seal replaced ($35 from moog and the new one leaks so Ill be redoing that)
8. Front pass side half axle
9. Front pass side lower ball joint (discovered it was broken after remounting axle.
10. Whoever also replaced the front sway bar bushings was too weak to torque on the bolts and I had a lot of body roll. Looking at the front end, the driver side 2 bolts were missing and the mount had shifted. Amazing what 2 bolts will do.


I have been doing all the work and I am tired haha. I noticed that the rear sway bar was missing and my friend gave me his. However the arms are too short to reach with the lift. I haven't found markings showing me who made the kit so that I can figure out if its a 5in or a 6in.

 

I'm 99% sure its the bds. The finish on some of the parts look like that spackled gray..

 

11. Swapped the torque arm support bushings / torque arm links
12. Swapped the rear U-joint
13. Swapped the front sway bushings and bolts for an energy set.
14. Caulked any spots of the plastic covering inside the vehicle to stop the rubbing and squeaking sounds
15. Added 2 spring washers to the hood supports to stop the pop sound. Via TSB 01-08-63-001A GM part # 12383460
16. Greased every zerk on the truck

 

I am impressed on the amount of work you have done in such a short amount of time. Glad to see you are taking excellent care with it. Nice ride!

 

Wow, that's a lot of work in a short time. Truck looks great! What kind of wheels are those?

 

Centerlines. I have to get a new tire now since UDOT left a big steel bar on the freeway offramp and it ripped a 2 inch hole in a $200 tire... so add a new tire to my list o stuff haha

 

17. New driver rear tire
18. Oil Change
19. Power steering flush


Now for a lil break. Next up is the rear leafs and front shocks.

 

I am an engineer by trade.. I'm constantly looking for things to fix/improve... this is going to be an expensive truck.

 

Correction.. I actually have the trailmaster lift.

 

wow that already sounds like a expensive truck. You basically rebuilt it from the ground up.. have you touched the motor yet? What are your plans for that (motor) after you get all the suspension done?
