Wow, I haven't updated in a while. I have the blazer at the shop trying to figure out why the VSS isn't working. We didn't disconnect the sensor but we did disconnect all the wiring to the ECM. So the guy who help me install it either hooked it up wrong or damaged the wiring. Plans are when I get it road worthy again are to remove the side molding, undercoat the frame and fix a couple small rust bubbles.

I finally got my blazer back! it only took them 2 weeks to fix it. And about 3 weeks before that to get the engine, and get it installed. Then wait for money go get the VSS issue fixed. So i haven't really driven it in over a month. There were 2 broken wires on the harness coming from the transfer case harness. It is nice to have it back with actual oil pressure and whatnot. I get about 60 PSI when it is cold and about 30 when it is warmed up. As opposed to about 30 when cold and 0 when warm. I will change the oil after about 500 miles. The engine had really nasty old coolant in it so I am running water in it for the next couple of days.

So, I have been driving the blazer daily for almost 2 weeks now. It is great to have it back, but those fans I installed on my amp cover sound like a vacuum cleaner and it was driving me nuts. So, I came up with a solution.

I got this guy on amazon to drop my fans from 12v to 5v.

Inside the cover

I don't know what it was for, but there is a little square hole in the cover. The voltage converter fits there perfectly. So I drilled 2 holes and use 2 long screws and nuts to hold it in place

Nothing like some mustache Duct Tape to hold wires in place.

Looks like it is meant to be in there.

Now the fans run pretty much silently, no more vacuum cleaner in the back

love the seat warmer idea, I go to school in Michigan and man would that be nice during the winter, also if your still looking or considering tires i recently got the AT2 Grabbers and they are pretty sweet, pulled me out of a few decent mud holes so far.

Those seat heaters were not that tough to install. I should have done it before it got so cold out though.

So yesterday I decided that I was tired of the stupid side molding on my blazer. it took about 45 minutes, some goo gone, and an old AAA card to get rid of it. I still have a little bit of residue to clean off, but It is gone for the most part.

After

So I would like some input from anybody who reads this. I like the Z28 wheels I have on my blazer now. However, I hate having to run fender flares to stay legal. I don't really care too much for my stock wheels or any of the stock blazer wheels for that matter. I don't dislike them, They just aren't much fun. If 4 door ZR2 style flares were available (without modifying ZR2 flares) I would just go with that. Here are a couple things that I am considering. I like the Impala wheels with the center caps from the police package, it is just something different. As long as they fit. I also like the C1500 steel wheels with the center caps. What I really want are the ZR5 or Fire bird wheels.

Impala

C1500

ZR-5

Firebird

I prefer the Impala wheels. My .02 cents.
