2000 Turbo Diesel Blazer Benz mash up thread
Lots of progress today:
Fabed up all the radiator supports and hoses ect..

hooked up the relay for the glow plugs and got the blazer oil pressure sender mounted, you can also see the throttle cable assembly here also: Note that that oil sender needs to be grounded so that the reason its mounted the way it was as a plastic hose would not ground it

And made the temp sender mounting for the blazer temp sender:

I also tackled some of that nasty wiring harness, since im using only 3 of the sensors , oil and temp and the gear selection switch, I'm cleaning up the harness so its easier to manage.. no pics of that.. yet

I've also been considering a greener option for an engine swap, but I don't know if I want to go electric. A 4.8 diesel may be a fun thing to do.

Today I totally redid the Blazers wiring harness, eliminating any plugs that were not used and taped up every thing to make it tidy.
I also made the mount for the coolant overflow tank, worked out well.
Added the power cable to the glow plug relay from the battery.
Welded some steel on to the upper radiator support so it can be bolted into place , yet easily removable for pulling the engine.. also made rubber mounts for the top of the radiator that secure it to the upper radiator support.
Also setup the vacuum line to the power break booster
No pics today.. sorry
Need to pick up some steel and bits to make the mount for the blazers gear selection switch and the linkages to the benz transmission tomorrow.

Since this project came together as a dirt cheap project car i always leave no idea to question.. browsing the local Craig's list I came across a same gen pickup shell.. for cheap.. HMMM makes me wonder

Add a couple stacks in the bed and your really have a rig.. it probably would not be any longer than my 1 ton dually crewcab full size.. so it would be usable.
Probably wont do it but dang its tempting.
