I like the wider better and It sits good at that angle. The Vette's would seem to far forward IMO.

I worked on the fender flares today. I dont like them but think they will look better than having the front tires stick out and look goofy. I never did come up with a great idea on how to cut them and blend them into the Sonoma GT bumperettes, so i decided to just cut them off where they meet and round off the edge. The next step is to smooth them out and paint them to match the truck. They should look a lot better painted. One improvement is how low the truck looks with the flares on. I love the look of a slammed truck.

You can see that the flare is just about flush with the tire on the truck. Much better than the crazy rock chips.

Not perfect but the certainly make the truck look lower.

I want that truck so much. Trade for an 02 Blazer with under 45k on it?

Gorgeous, ive been watching this thread for a while and love every choice you have made for your truck. One day when my 3 kids are successful and moved out on their own maybe I can do something that nice!!!

How about a vid of that badboy peeling out a good one in that parking lot there? Maybe cutting and AWD 360!?!?

Thats why this project is taking so long. Kids. This truck is a "budget" build. Nothing here is high dollar, just a little time and effort. With piles of money, I would have done a lot different. When I started this project four years ago I had two kids. A little over a year ago my sister died and we adopted her 20 month old son. 7 months later, we had a baby. I now have four kids. Ack! So the two little ones will grow up with an LT1 Jimmy in the garage! hehe This also means that instead of buying Sonoma GT ground effects, I just registered the oldest two goto church camp. Instead of doing the flares Tuesday night, I was at the high school swim team awards banquet where my daughter got her varsity letter. etc etc By the time I'm "finished" with the truck, my daughter will be out of high school I'm sure! lol

Thats awesome that you put your family above everything else. Thats the kind of dad I hope to be one day. I'm sure your boys will want to wrench on cars once they're older enough.
