Summer 2017 dismantle
Look at that rotted cab
No body mounts he'd this in place. It actually would shift when driving.
New body with little work done.
Look at that back frame rail. It was Swiss cheese.
Luckily it was pretty clean otherwise.
Clean and treated, sealed and painted frame.
Woohoo!!! New rear frame rail and body mounts!!
Primed and ready for paint.
Good looking body.

So the body should be on the frame with engine and transmission back in by the end of this week. Sometimes it's good to know a guy or two who get bored over the winter.
All of the parts that couldn't be salvaged from the rotted 93 have been replaced with either parts from the pristine 91 body or from new old stock parts. Nothing aftermarket is being used so this truck will be all GM parts.
Door jambs should have some paint on them as well to decide if I really like the color I chose. It's based off the color of a Ural motorcycle. But what the color looks like on a couple of fenders and a gas tank may have a different appearance on an entire cab so test runs are necessary.
Only thing I'm not so sure of is whether I should drop the truck now or wait until I plan on the v8 swap and AWD conversion.

The blazer is almost a truck again. Engine and transmission in, wiring harness swapped over to new body and on the frame.
There are some little things done like the a/c condenser, radiator, hoses, all fuel and brake lines being replaced and some other little stuff that makes this really feel like it's coming together.
This week there should be some color on it and the glass should be back in. The door jambs and window window inlays are first to see paint just to make sure I like the color before the whole body is painted.

That's the tailgate. And that's the color the whole truck will be. It came out amazing. Gave the ok today to move forward with the rest of paint. By end of next week the truck will have all glass back in and the rest of the body assembled.
From there, just a routine tune up... and I'm sure some more crazy ideas my buddy will hate me for.
