Default 97 2 Door 4x4 5 Spd build

Greetings fellow Blazer enthusiasts !

Just picked up my 5th blazer (had a '91, '93, '95, '99 Jimmy and an '07 TB). I found the rare unicorn with a 5 speed! ZM6 Off-Road Suspension, G80 Limited slip 3.42, sunroof, power everything etc. Interior is immaculate and just one rust spot behind drivers side door to patch up after the tune-up. I put on shocks, u-joints, plugs n wires (bosch) rotor n cap, new fuel lines, taillights the sealed beam to composite conversion with a new black grille and red n black bowtie & cold air intake.

Getting duals and thunderbolt high-flow cats installed monday.

I ordered a cheapy fuel pump on ebay and it was DOA, gauge worked, could hear the pump run but no fuel. All lines, vent hose and filler neck are new, with new quick-connect fasteners and a new tank locking ring. I primed it many times, and cranked too...no fuel at the filter and none in the line. Already ordered a better pump, will be here saturday and I should be on the road again!

Hope to have some good conversation here..

anybody got a similar setup? what kind of HP and fuel mileage do you get? I'm guessing around 230-240 HP with this build and 25+ mpg if I keep my foot out of it. Also, it had 162k when I bought it, I put 265k on the '91 four door I had and it ran like a top until the day i totalled it

Also, anybody chop the stock box to make a heat shield? Looks like you could make some small mods to the top of the factory box and attach to CAI for a custom shield...anybody done this?

Well the dual exhaust is on... 90° exits right behind the rear
tires, Thunderbolt Hi-Flow cats and Turbo II's, also put in new O2 sensors with exhaust, one before the cat on one side and one after the cat on the other side for a balanced reading of both exhaust banks. Runs and sounds great!

hey I drive a 1997 5 spd 2 door and love it here is my build its black https://blazerforum.com/forum/builds...p-80180/page3/

ive never heard of zm6
youll more then likely never see 25+ mpg
and 230 to 240 horsepower invest in a good tune and it possible
but my 2 cents blazer come with a great air box out the factory and your cold are intake can be worst it looks like an ebay one it looks cool in all but it lacks heat shield

The zm6 code is a offroad package.

When it was new it had 190 at the flywheel so 16 years later I would say 140 at the wheels if you are lucky. a good tune and intake/exhaust you should pick up about 20-30 hp. Just intake exhaust maybe 10
And when james was stock I would see 23 on the highway.

Skid plates, Different torsion bars for about .5inch of lift and the g80. It was like half of the zr2 package
