98 blazer offroad/dd build aka Sally May
Sorry I haven't posted for awhile. I've been helping my gfs mom out on her farm because she got lung cancer. Also my axle swap is on hold right now cause most of my extra money is goin to hospital bills. I did take over payments on my gfs dads old truck. Its 1999 dakota rt club cab. Its been sitting in the barn the last 2 years.
Well after a long night of replacing the front axle on my buddy's K10 I figured I'd update the thread. Blazer is now off the road till after next weekend. The trans messed up again. I lost reverse 3rd and overdrive last night on the way home from visiting the gfs mom. So my buddy is gonna rebuild, put a shift kit and vette servo in and extra trans he has. While I'm putting the new trans in next week im gonna put my shifter on the tcase and put my G6 seats in.
I got the green light to start getting parts for the sfa swap. So I went a head and ordered the sky offroad sfa kit from poly performance. I'm still waiting on getting my 6.9L idi so I can buy my front axle
Well Saturday was a bad day for me. The blazer caught fire underneath while I was waiting for it to warm up at my gfs family dinner. Fire Marshall said it was the transmission wiring.
Lucky the gf and I was in the process of buying a 97 Jeep Grand Cherokee limited with a 5.2l and quadatrac to replace her Ranger. So now I get the ZJ and she'll get the dakota

How can someone live in a area (knowing their vehicle is gonna rust) put all kinda of $$$$ into it,Then sadly watch it get eaten up by rust cancer?I guess all you can do is try and under coat it,rinse the under carriage off every time you drive threw the salt or mud. Then hope for the best.GM used to under coat their vehicles years ago,but that`s a thing in the past.
