Balloon tires? LoL. Just 35s.
I'll try and get better pictures of the trimming.

I like the receiver type recovery points. Always a good way to do that. You can always build custom tooling for the mount points too like jack posts and even auxiliary winch mounts.

Your pretty handy with those tools.
I was browsing the forum looking for some ideas for mine and wow what a build. I don't think I am going that far. Very nice work

Man, you definitely have skill. I've been wanting to straight axle my 97 but I'm terrified of getting in over my head. I don't nearly have enough know how to make it happen.

Wow, I should check in more often. Thanks for the kind words gents. The sas was a big job, but not too bad when you have all the tools, friends with skills and LOTS OF RESEARCH UNDER YOU BELT.
Research is the biggest thing.
I will try and do an update in the near future, no big changes just the constant tweeks.

Youd definitely be the guy to ask before getting into something like this, but since im not that handy with a welder would the sky manufacturing kit be something worth using? I dont want to go full size 44s and id like to use a 30 or 35 from a xj tj or yj. But how much work would it be if I wanted to run leafs instead of the coils that the axles originally came with? And how would I hook up the steering? Do I just need to change the pitman and if so doest it just hook up? Ive been looking into it but you know your stuff so I figured I'd ask you

Thanks to Jared's spare parts (and help) I have now replaced my steering shaft. The rag joint was worn, the new (used) one is much better. I may upgrade to a flaming river u joint in the future. The big difference I think was the tulip joint. This joint is a real PITA to get at but we were able to replace it with a new (used) one that doesn't have that annoying clunk (play). This should tighten up the steering for now and I will look into putting my tie rod on top of the knuckles to help with bump steer. Grand cherokee knuckles and brakes may be in the future but not yet. Jared and I also pulled a bigger swaybar from a grand Cherokee that will find its way under the blazer eventually. This week end kept me busy.
