you don't have to use a fine thread bolt, but think about the amount of threads that will engauge the frame of the truck (it's really not that thick). fine threads give you a little more engaugement. plus, fine threads don't "back off" as easily as a coarse thread.
the main problem i need is the furthest bolts back on the last plate, the three into the cross bar, thats most of why i have not put them up i don't think i can tap those very easily, mainly cause i don't have a tap

Default The Chronicle of James - chap 3 - add-a-leaf

Well, after the rear was sagging with tools and gear offroading a couple weeks ago I had to do something. The quick fix was a short add-a-leaf. I spent time on and off a whole day disassembling stuff, cleaning, painting, and resassembling. I still have paint touch ups to do (left some parts undone so they could be moved while paint dried). Not sure why I am trying to make pretty. The paint on the truck sucks (by my standards), but then I don't mind so much when a tree limb rubs hard when we're wheeling.

Took these out in front of my in-law's home. Yeah....its full of bass, crappie, and bluegill.

I have decided that a suspension lift is NOT on the cards. The truck isn't worth it. If something happens to it there is no way the ins will cover the loss if I put so much in a daily-driver like this. If it was just for weekend trails or fun...sure. I've also made the case that though its proven to be VERY capable off road, if I make it too much so I'll bend it trying solid cat 4 trails (its been most of the way up a low-end cat 4 already). We will put a 2" BL on it to improve tire clearance and perhaps slightly larger tires (32s). There are other places it can be improved and made more trail-ready and fun. One day I need better shocks that will let it flex all that it can and I need to put the full-size bump stops up front.

Enjoy....critique....or both.

I had to. At least I didn't do it in orange or red.

Very nice and your truck's underside is pretty clean.

You...were peeking....

Thanks. I had to pressure wash the other day because the front diff is leaking out both sides.... I have new seals, but am on a lazy streak. Pulling the front CVs just isn't my favorite thing. Put in lucas stabilizer and its not really leaking now.

The ZR2 option was never offered with any of the Crew Cab, 4-Door Blazer, or GMC Jimmy (USA) models.

Thats a quote from a quick googleee search, but looks good, I almost like the no center cap look when its clean

No center cap look was ushered in by the loss of one center cap. They have to come off to wheel anyway and sinced this isn't really a show truck....they're unneeded.

Yeah, I know ZR2/hi-rider wasn't offered in those, but I was told by someone who supposedly has no reason to lie to me.... He also has no proof until the two he says stop in at the store regularly can be found.

The flares would require some serious hacking to make work. Some here have done it, but I do not think the factory would bother.
