Default is a body lift and susp lift a bad idea on the same vehicle

i have a 97 chevy blazer 2dr 4wd not the zr2 model but i was wondering if i can put a 2.5" susp lift on it and a 2" body lift on it or would that make it crappy?

Now how you gonna go and mess up his build thread????

I love what you have done with the build gitch!! You are the first to make me really consider a tire carrier on the back to make room tool/storage boxes up top! I've been on the fence about it for some time but you may have tipped me over the edge. What did you use to attach your shovel to the roof rack?

thx rexmburn honestly i love the tire carrier idea i had it on the roof for awhile but when i lifted the truck it was hard to reach and take off. so i mounted the 2 door tire carrier on the back and it worked great for adding a spare tire and whip and what ever else u can think of. i used the roof rack for the hi lift jack, axe, and spade shove and tool box. i used quick fist clamps and a u bracket to hold the shovel.

heres the link i picked up the kit and used it for my fire extinguisher and shovel and axe

so i decided to get busy today and head to a local metal recycling centre to find a nice long peice of steel and ended up with this for 7 bucks.

next i called around to as many shops as i could find and a local minekee muffler shop was able to bend it up and cut to length for only 10 bucks

then i decided to take a visit to my friends shop to get it all welded up and notched
heres getting the points all ground down to weld

then we used plasma cutter to notch the ends and ground down flat

then we tack welded it in place to alighn it all up

then we used a ratchet strap as it needed to be bent in a little more to weld to the points and my friend welding it all up

after the stinger was welded up we started on the supports.

heres the supports all welded up

and finnaly we added a peice of rod for the winch hook

heres the finished product with out paint

in total it cost me 67 bucks for the material and to build it

Very nice!! I'm a huge fan of stinger style bumper setups myself. I am also a huge fan of your resourcefulness in getting your goal accomplished at an awesome price!
