"dirt devil" build thread
yea fabricating is awsome u can make anything u want work and make things ppl dont have. the only armor i need left is a pair of fabricated rock sliders,a large sheet of steel to cover the gap for the transmission pan from the factory aluminum skids and possibly make a rear diff u joint gaurd. love ur ride man looks awsome especially the fender flares and ur smitty built bumper. looks rugged and serves a purpose. i just picked up a set of rare hard to find 2003 zr2 torsion bars for my truck as the extra weight i added sagged them alot
thx the stinger was a easy build and made it look good. for the flares i used garden plastic trim a roll was 6 bux and it did all 4 wheel wells. then i putchased some self tapping screws and went to work. came out good considering how cheap they were but it keeps local police happy and off my case.
thx man its been alot of work in progress. i blew the fuel filter saturday and in the midst of installing a new one. cleaned the tank out and got a new fuel filter with injector cleaner. also started on rexburns idea of the home made posilock system and gonna install the zr2 torsion bars i have purchased
so the weather has been nice the past 2 days i decided to get busy yesterday i finished up my entire new fuel system and cleaned the truck heavily from the salty winter we had and from my weekends offroad adventure. today i decided to install the home made posi-lock pull cable into the truck (rexmburns)idea
heres the cable runthrough the fire wall in the engine bay

heres what it looks like with the cable attached to the posi cable.i must say it works pretty damn good

i also decided to paint my rear diff gaurd with my zombie theme symbol

and heres a quick photo shot as she sits today

since the weather is so nice latley its been giving me ideas to turn my truck into a expedition trail rider from watching videos and i love to camp.
today i decided to try some new ideas and so far i love the outcome i had some 3m carbon vinyl laying around from previous projects in the past and decided to cover my gas cap cover and 4wd switch and steering column.

i seen a post of ppl swapping the 4wd switch/headlight switch/rear wiper switch and hvac control switch and the bulbs for the window switch to leds. i already have red accents in my truck with super bright leds behind my cluster and led strips under my dash and red glow jvc deck. i decided to change the color from the factory green to red to finish the theme for night driving. ppl used leds i decided to paint mine red and so far they work amazing.

heres the finished product of the 3m films

heres my offroad light switches and my front diff cable
