Default engine swap from 87 k5 into 89 blazer

i own an 85 k5 with an 87 350 that has low miles. came across an 89 blazer with no engine and in pretty good shape overall. also has 4" lift, wheels and tires. before i contact the seller, i want to know how complicated it would be to add my 350 to this other blazer. i have done an engine replacement before. but the years were the same and there were no computers involved. anyone have any suggestions?

350 tbi- yes. i rewired an 82 jeep, with a brand new wiring kit. i also mated a 305 out of a 76 el camino into a 69 chevelle. all i had at the time. that worked pretty good. the only thing i'm worried about is the time involved. i know i can do the work. tuff to get the time with the kiddos around. what do you think? do i just need to get my hands on some wiring diagrams and go for it?

yes that would be your best bet. even one of those cheap chilton or haynes manuals will be better than nothing. here are some more wiring diagrams that might help you out http://forum.73-87chevytrucks.com/sm...?topic=11766.0

so i talk to the 89 blazer seller. turns out the engine is just seized. i shouldn't have to rewire anything. if i can take the heads and manifolds off, it should be as easy as replacing the lower end of the motor, right? not that that is going to be a cake walk, but better than the rewiring part.

is the motor in the 89 tbi?

if i was you i would swap the motors if they were the same. on chevy fuseblocks they split. the inside harness and the engine harness. all you would have to do is unbolt the harness from each truck and swap the new one in. the harness are pretty easy too. i think there is only 1 threaded bolt that holds the two together.
