Thats 3/16 that I bought at the hardware store for 10.00 for 48 inches. The welder is a wire feed with gas that we have at work, not sure the brand but its blue. Will be plenty strong enough

I have to say that after the add a leafs, balljoint spacers and new shocks I really like the ride now, stiffened things up nicely. Also like the added hieght. And it was the cheap route, 35 for the leafs, 45 for the spacers and 40 for the front shocks 120.00 for 2 inches of lift

Installed the new shackles I fabbed up. Made them with 2 sets of holes, stock and 1 inch lift. Didnt plan well because the stock holes where to close to the cross piece so I had to use the 1 inch hole. It was going there sooner or later anyway.

did you put new busings in with the new shackles or just bolt the ones that you made on?

Had no choice, got the nuts off and hit the bolts with a 4lb sledge and they wouldnt move. Used my 15.00 harbor freight cutoff saw cutting the bolt between the old shackle and the leaf. Same on the frame section. then I was able to bend the old shackle and slide it off the bolt on the other side of the cut. Th e bolt still wouldnt budge through the bushing so I end up drilling out the rubber to remove the middle of the bushing and then used a chisel to get the outer metal of the bushing out. Took about 2 hours for the first side but had to stop and think about things. The other side should be quicker. 2 new bushings 30.00. 15 minutes to put it back together

Removed my AC, didnt work, didnt use it, Freed up a little weight and space. Used pulley in place from autozone. Had to buy new shorter 10mm bols and use a spacer that came with it behind the wheel.

Gotta figure out what to do with this
