help!!! 1999 chevy 2500 6.0 vortec swap to 5.7 vortec will it work?

Ive got a good deal on a rolling truck just needs a motor. Its currently got the original 6.0 vortec. I need to know if i can bolt a 5.7 vortec to the tranny and ride? Need all info asap noone has this issue so far

Pretty sure the bolt patters for the blocks are the same as long as you are putting in a 99+ 5.7. Anything older will not work with the 4l80e in that truck.
