1999 chevy 2500 6.0
so I might have the opportunity to buy a new to me truck soon, as I started my new job, and My brother-in-law's step dad has a 99 chevy truck with a 6.0, its white and extended cab, what i really want to know is does anyone have any experience with this truck/motor combo? any input would be helpful

My brother and a buddy both have 1999 3/4 tons with the 6L. Both have been happy with them.
They also suffer from the poor oil cooler line design like our Blazers so be prepared to fix that. Have high pressure ones built and never touch them again.
My brothers had a couple of studs rust and snap off on the exhaust manifolds causing a leak. He fixed it himself with a stage 8 header bolt kit and new gaskets. He told me it wasn't too bad of a job.
The brain for the anti-lock brakes can malfunction and your anti-locks will no longer work. I believe this box can be rebuilt by a few companies in the US for a reasonable price.
The 6L has good power but the fuel economy is not great. If I remember right my brother said he gets around 14 mpg combined city and highway so if you are looking for a fuel miser this truck is not it.
