Cool Johnny Blaze: The Build

I decided to create a build thread because I have so many random threads out there. This way I can encompass all my weirdness into one, giant, super thread!

Pics and specs next.

To be continued...

Here is how the legend of Johnny Blaze started out...
Named by the wife, by the way.
1998 LS model, with a remote start, factory fogs, and side window deflectors / rain guards installed.
Took this pic right after I got it, parked on the street behind our old apartment.

This picture was almost 2 years ago.
Blacked out the bowtie, added smoked vinyl over the turn signal lights, Spyder headlights & taillights, and an Aries brand grill guard.
Removed the trim off the sides, and removed all badges.
Installed HID headlights and LED taillights with the flasher relay trick, and disabled my DRL with the pin # 87 trick on the DRL fuse under the hood.
Found some really nice GMC Jimmy Rims at the u pull it with 30" tires on them. Purchased those and upgraded the tires. Still running 30 inchers.
That was just the outside.
I swapped interiors a few times.
Got rid of all the cloth seats and door panels. Grabbed black leather seats and black vinyl panels, until I found a Bravada seats with heated leather, and the leather panels to match. Covered the door and panel in sound deadener.
Got rid of the cassette deck center consoles for the plain center console.
Swapped out the 4 door speakers for new Kenwood ones. Added sound deadener to the inside of the speaker "box".
Installed a Kenwood head unit, and had an Alpine amp and 2 10" Type Rs. (currently disconnected to save cargo space)
Changed all interior lights to bright LEDs, and red LEDs in my gauge cluster, glove box, and cig lighter.
Olds Bravada hvac ***** replaced the plain old *****.

That's all that I can think of at this point in time..

Lots of parts replaced and/or fixed.

What's coming down the pipeline...

1. Installing a touch screen Kenwood HU with a rear cam, eventually.

2. Adding extra storage in the cargo area.

3. Still need to put my spacers and Camaro wheels on.

4. Attaching a swing spare tire carrier. Going to sand and paint it first.

On the want list: 2" Rough Country Lift, Jimmy/Sonoma hood.

Still flirting with fender flares .. Wait and see about those.
Have a sweet ram air style hood, but need to paint it... Still. And need to drill out slots for the window washer fluid nozzles.

Great start! Looking forward to seeing the camaro wheels on.

I like the look of the gmc hoods on the blazers. The only downside to them imo is that they're flimsy compared to the blazer hoods

Forgot to mention the locking billet fuel door I purchased...wanted one of these for a hot minute.

I also need to reinstall my KC fog lights. Disconnected a month or so ago, to get the grill guard off and run new wires.

Currently I am looking at the Big 3 threads. Another project I would like to do. Of course, I am going to purchase an Optima yellow top, and a better alternator.

A little rust I will be touching up soon, as well.

Too much on my list... Need more time!
And money.

Followed the sticky.
My cuts are a bit jagged... Used a hacksaw. I swear it wasn't a beaver!
