Default Making a 91 vert S-10

Me and a buddy are going to take his S-10 and turn it into an older style body kinda.... We are going to make it so the top can come off just like a K-5 blazer our plans are to cut were i marked on the photo on both sides and the top. re run wires for the rear interior light so it is still functional, then trim it down a little more and bend it a 1/2 inch over to the inside an place weather stripping on the top so when re sealed it dose not leak or let air in. the only thing we aint sure on is what to use to bolt it back through with but that'll come when time is here

Lemme know what ya'll think
we're gunna start to attack the project this weekend by cutting off the top.

You have to be careful not to weaken the roof in that area. I would leave as little frame around the window as you can on the portion you are going to remove. Then weld it all shut. You may have to reinforce the roof area on both pieces.

Drop the headliner down and have a look what is under there. If you can cut right in the middle of a support beam, then you will have something to weld to for the caps as well as something that you can put a seal on.

Me and a friend did the same thing to a Suburban about 10 years ago. Although we were going to use a full size 76 - 91 Blazer top as a replacment. We ended up with a deer lease convertable and never did put a top on it.
