Default 4x4 making noises

Sometimes it makes a noise when I put it in 4x4. Not all the time, but lately it has been happening a few times. Its not a grinding. Is this normal?

Would help to know the year of your truck? Is this a push button or floor shifter?

Default RE: 4x4 making noises

If it is just a pop noise, like it is engaging, this is normal as far as I know. It happens in my truck I have a 98 4dr push button not automatic4x4 blazer. If it is not supposed to make a quick pop noise intially let me know as something could be wrong with mine then.
