Just checking in...

Transmission has been working great, no a single hiccup or anything.

Now I have to look into a complete upper door hinge setup, probably do the bottom at the same time. I think I'm gonna try the bolt on ones, but weld them on. Hopefully the metal isnt too bad to work with...

anyone try this approach?

Tire carrier finally installed. Went a little different then the blazer, notice some wear on the body panels of the blazer. So gonna redo that.

I went with longer bolts above and below the light with some reinforcement... cut a hole to access the 2 "middle" bolts...

Fits nicely

Had to cut the side bumper to fit the lower hinge

Rivets hold better then screws

Welded whatever nuts i could access so they dont loosen

Nice install!

I've been saving how people have installed their carriers for reference when I install mine. Sadly it always seems to be a "I'll get to it next summer" project.

Looks great! I need to find 2 of those! Both the blazer and the jimmy need something to hold a spare! The original under body ones were rusted beyond repair.

Not much new with her. My mom had to take her to a shop to get the work done, but I'm getting some things done too lol. Shop did ball joints, tie rods, diff seals, CV axles, hubs, shocks. I had 2/3 of the parts so it was mostly labor. I did the doors pins on the passenger side, and I have a plan on installing bolts into the driver side and eliminating the pins and bushing, they aren't lasting, and the bolt will last longer and be easier to change lol. So that'll be an experiment, I'll take pictures hopefully.

I have new coil over shocks I will be putting on the rear, as well as I plan on doing the side steps from the blazer o had sticking around. Not sure when that'll get done, but with work getting cut back, might have time coming.

So after putting all that time and money into her, I figured I can find one that'll last longer for cheaper then putting more money. She needed more work. A leaf spring broke on the passenger side, the rust was starting to take the body mounts, and well many more important areas. So I went online, and I ended up finding a 1 owner, better condition with 100k less, 2000 GMC jimmy. Only difference is this one is white with black cloth interior, and a 3 button setup. So been swapping parts, and trying to get the neglected ride back to shape.

I looked under the seat covers and floor mats, and they are in great shape. Going to swap the heated seats in and get seat covers tho
