My Project

mine wanted to do the same to mine, but mine was all body work. just keep searching for parts. especially craiglist or put a wanted ad up there. the big thing i found out with these trucks is to do something everyday to it so you continually make progress. its really easy to get down in the dumps about it taking to long or costing to much. if its what you want to do , then do it. i had alot of people tell me it would be impossible to save my truck, but it sure feels good to prove them wrong.
keep up the work and if you need motivation i have a ton of pics of blazer thats started in worse shape and were restored.

Don't get rid of it k5's are becoming harder to come across these days at least for me it is.

ya i hope i can keep it cause i can just imagine how much fun it would be to drive if i fixed it up and if i cant keep it then i plan on probably getting another blazer even if its not a k5 but i really like this car

If your dad really wants to get rid of it please talk him into re selling it i would hate to see that go to a junk yard and maybe be crushed
#17
ya i sure would hate to see it go to a junkyard. i think hes thinking of selling it as parts but do parts for blazers sell. but i think i would want to see it go as a whole. when i sell this blazer i hope to buy another blazer that has less problems but right now im also working on a 89 plymouth horizon that my dads friend gave me. if i get another blazer im not sure if i want to get a full size or get a mid size if i ever get another one.

if you want it running with the least amount of effort (in my opinion) head to the salvage yard and pickup a running 350 chev engine and drop it in. Heck even to rebuild the current one that is in there isn't all that much cost with engine kits in the 300-500 dollar range through summit. I have had many K-5 blazers/Chev trucks in my younger years and the dumbest thing i ever did was sell them off and buy a newer blazer.

do you think its worth selling and getting another k5 blazer around the same year that is in better shape but one thing about this blazer is i think i would have to get all new smog equipment to get it registered

ok i just found out that since i bought it as a lien sale the dmv says that i cant sell it then only way i can sell it is as parts
