I used M10-1.50 x 50MM socket cap bolts with M10-1.5 tension lock nuts. Both of which are located in the pull out drawers at any HD. And yeah I got the steel from HD as well its just a few steps away from the nuts an bolts in the same isle at every HD I have ever been in. I would also recommend putting some panel adhesive on the back of the plates so that if you ever need to take the carrier off you won't have to fight to get the bolts lined back up. That tip is courtesy of Diata which I didn't do but will if I ever remove it!

I planned to use the factory bolts and just find the correct nuts to fit them and then I thought I had lost them is why I bought the new hardware and of course as soon as I'm finished I find my bag o' bolts lol.

And the cost wasn't much at all I think around $30 total if that!

about that diff protector you posted awhile back- I always thought it would be funny to paint the diff cover like a breast and then make the protector to look like a bra cup!

Hey Rex! I just wanted to let ya know that I still get the email updates from your build thread & the truck looks like its really coming along! I'm looking forward to seeing those rock sliders on it. I always wondered what they would have looked like on mine.
Any ways keep up the good work brother!

Thanks man!! I am hoping to at least have them ready to bolt on by next week sometime. I just need to wait for my steel that I ordered yesterday to get here and then I can get to work I also bought a ORD winch mount last night so as soon as that gets here I can get my winch bolted on the front And don't worry you already know I will be sure to post a bunch of pics as progress is made.

Hey Rex, I'm adding sliders too but a bit different. My rockers are a tad rotten so I cut them off and replaced them with 2"x3" tubing. I had to add a relief for the door post. I also angled the front to clear 31's sometime.

and add a 1" strip to match the bodyline and tie in the edge of the doorsill.

Well I got the winch mounted today I still have to do the wiring but I need to order some terminals cause I am gong to have to extend all of my wires. On with the pics!
Its an ORD mount I am happy with it for what I paid I will probably modify and raise it when the time comes to build a bumper since I feel like I have lost alot of approach angle with it on there.

All grade 8 hardware (except two nuts cause HD was out)

Test fit

I had to cut a bit off the factory skid to make the mount fit correctly

Test fit without winch

This is where I mounted the control box.

And here it is all back together. I am happy with the way it came outnice and clean and with the exception of a small bit of the frame horns I didn't have to cut anything off of the truck!

Its nice and recessed so it is hidden and out of the way but still very easily accessible

I set it just low enough to be able to close the hood completely with the controller plugged in.

I sill need to cut the spool handle off and mod it so that it is longer and accessible without reaching behind the grill. I figure I will do something similar to the controller with a removable handle of some sort.
And here's the truck with it fully mounted.

So now I need to order a roller fairlead and the terminals I need to wire it and I will be ready to winch!

I have one of these. Works pretty slick, but it has a bit of a delay. Just a thought...
