N3ROST4R's 95 s10 blazer 4x4
Okay I've been meaning to do this for awhile so here we go....
I found this truck on craigslist about 3 years ago for $400.00. Went and looked at it and the body was in great shape but the motor was knocking. My step dad had a astro van which had the same motor so I was able to purchase the blazer and get it running. Not bad for $400.
This is when I frist got it.
I knew I wanted to go the 'off road' route but it is a slow process because of funds, but then my tires were bald so that jump started the build. So I got a 2 inch p.a. body lift and new pro comp steel rims and 31" hankook dyna pro mt's
before the body lift
after body lift with new tires and rims
had to trim the front fenders a bit. (ill get a better picture tomorrow but you can see the fender.)
I also put in a spectre air intake
plan on build a heat shield and get a different filter because i haven't really noticed a change in performance or mpg at all...even though I'm not expecting to much anyway.
i installed a cobra cb
this was the best place i could think of to mount it because of limited space it renders the 2 extra 12v plugs and ashtray useless I plan on removing the ashtray and mounting a couple 12v plugs there because i usually have my gps and cell phone charger plugged in and I have a few other things that run 12v.
the antenna
you can't see it in this picture because my computer keeps cropping it for some reason but I mount the antenna onto the lower bar of the tire carrier using a mirror mount from radio shack. The carrier's diameter is a little larger then the mirror mount so i bent the bolts to go around...its a little ghetto but it works and it was cheap. The antenna is a 3ft firestik.
I got a rage roof rack for my birthday so this is how my truck sits now
dirty but we are supposed to get 8 inches of snow tomorrow so no reason to wash it.
here's how far the new tires stick out
the front stick out further the back, contemplating spacers but I have heard bad things so I'm not sure. But overall I like the stance of the truck.
Also have a thrush weld on muffler
and this is all the gear I keep in the back
I have a plano box i picked up for 30 bucks that I have packed with some survival gear and tools. Got the hi-lift for christmas which will be of more use to me after I get my rock sliders but I like the fact I can use it as a winch.
The receiver shackle needs to be put on but my hitch is rusted in so I got get that out first.
Future plans:
-Possibly regearing
-pcm tune but I heard 95's can't be tuned, I gotta do some more research
-anything I can possibly do to improve gas mileage the bigger tires have -definetly made a difference. Any tips?
-Right now I have someone making some rock sliders/steps and a bar for the front bumper for lights and eventually a new rear bumper.
-upgrade headlights to HID's cause the stock ones suck
-2 or 4 lights on roof rack up front and 2 on the back
-2 driving lights up front and 2 fogs
-undercoat frame and wheel wells
-Change Tranny fluid and filter (need to do bad) any suggestions on a good brand of fluid?
-Paint flat black
-Alarm system
-new mud flaps in rear
Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks for looking

Wow...looking good.
as far as wheel adapters for the back...i have had mine for a year...no issues.
I torqued them with a little loctite for ins. never an issue. I have checked them several times always fine.
Only issue is tire shops wont touch the rear now. Ohh well. I love the look.
Keep up the great work...

Wow that looks really good! Definitely a good grab for only 400!

thanks guys! Ya I really lucked out. So far including tires and whatever maintenance I have maybe $2500 invested total and the tires where $1200 lol. Maybe I'll look into some spacers then but it doesn't really bother me just another thing to add to the list.

I'm loving your truck! Its almost a 2 door version of mine with our own personal differences. Can you possibly post a front shot of your truck I'm on the fence about painting my grill all black when I do my bedliner on my rockers. Yours is the closet to the same color and same model as mine that I have found with a blacked out grill. I think you may have made up my mind for me.

Thank you, I like your truck alot too, especially the rack.
here is a shot of the front end. I like the black better cause the grill was the only chrome I had didn't make any sense to me
Here are some better shots of the cb mount
kinda hard to see with the snow but you can get an idea of how it fits.

progress is slow but I changed the tranny fluid and rear diff fluid. My pinion seal was leaking so replaced that as well as oil coolant lines they were leaking too. And now I have another issue which I am trying to figure out. Rough idle, terrible gas mileage and its running very rich but not throwing any codes....i dont know what it is yet, time for some forum searching lol.
On a good note I got my rough country control arms in the mail, so she's gonna be alittle taller...after I figure out why its not running right, when it rains it pours lol.
