enough to bug me constantly, my driveway just makes it a little bit of an optical illusion, when on level ground it's more noticeable

so I got them prepped for mounting

Aerosol PlastiDip, original thought was bedliner but I still had some from sprayign the current wheels and like the texture. Gotta find centers for them still, won't stop me from mounting them up though

Those look nice all blacked out...Only thing is when they go to mount tire that plastidip is gonna peel off on the edges wont it?

Soap, machine settings, patience, a couple hopes and dreams, and most likely I'll still have to do a little touch up after the tires are mounted/before the beads are set. I'll have to get more spray no matter what once I find centers (I ain't looking too hard yet)

Ah its plastidip...not like it cant be easily fixed with a little paint thinner and time...Thats one good thing about the stuff...Gets little blems but you dont have to repaint it all again..Just thin out the plastidip in the area with thinner work it dwn flush...Let it dry and respray the area works perfect...I`ve had to do a few touch ups already on my rear drivers side wheel...

Yea, I'm pleased with how that stuff is to work with. That and the fact it ain't just a completely dull flat black. Gotta get the truck off my wife so I can get them mounted now...

was able to make a set of 20 chrome lugs (well 2 matching sets of 10 and 10, can only see 1 side at a time!) so I didn't have to mess with the plastic caps right now either. I don't really mind not having centers right now either as I am pleased with how they turned out (more importantly, she is). The pics ain't good justice since lighting wasn't that great but they now just bulge the sidewalls a little past the fender lips and got rid of the fat guy with skinny feet look from behind. Not sure if I want to break the spare down and put it on one of the aluminum wheels now or just leave it on the steel one, have to see which one weighs less... Not too shabby though for a $0.00 investment mod.

Onward to the next project!

Going by the scale I used, the steel wheel (no tire, no wheel weights, chrome trim ring installed) weighed in at 25.6lb, and one of the aluminum ones (no tire, no wheel weights, chumpie center installed) came in at 21.8lb so I figured heck with it and changed them out

At least this way the color will match if I need it...
Also got the tabs I made in the basket and the roof mounts mounted, just gotta wire them now but I wasn't enthused for that today

just went over some maintenance yesterday (fluid level checks, found a transmission line leaking so I fixed that, removed the plastic front 'skid' to be used as a template for making one that can actually take a hit) my biggest thing I'm happy about is taking care of one of my most annoying things on it. The broken mirror in the passenger side visor

how do you break THAT mirror to begin with? I wasn't about to scrap the whole visor though as even the elastic band things ain't stretched out so I was able to pop the trim/lights off and replace the glass with a donor from the shop s10s old visors

I can breath easier now knowing that THAT super important necessity is taken care of...
