Still in the early stages, but thought I would put some info in here and couple photos!
I’ve always loved Syclones and Typhoons, but could never bring myself to buy one only to cut it up (don’t like the sound of the 4.3s)
So - aborted on my 2wd ex cab ls swap s10 (there were other reasons this died, won’t go into the details…) and the new project was born!
2004 blazer, 2 door 4x4
parts I have :
-GM 12 bolt narrowed rear end (from previous project, going 3.73s from the current 4.10s)
-zr2 iron front dif with 3.73s
-astro front dif with 3.73 (needed the axle tube to make awd)
-Astro transfer case
-2009 LC9 5.3 engine (alu block)
-4L80e 4x4 trans
-tubular control arms (strips out torsion bars)

currently waiting to finish my shop and we have bunch of snow, so physical progress is still a bit out, but looking forward to this project! At a point in my life I need to jump deep into this or I won’t ever finish, so any suggestions or ideas I’m all ears.
Picked up a NP149 tcase (Silverado SS) this morning. You can buy 32 spline input shafts for these right off ebay (one in the mail already) and being 6 bolt tcases, will literally bolt to the adapter on 4x4 4L80E (S10s, Astro Tcases are all 5 bolt) I will need to buy a clocking ring, as this Tcase is larger and hangs down to much stock for an S10, but will cross that bridge later. If clocking ring makes it so output of trans and input of tcase don't engage enough, I'll swap output shaft in trans to a 2WD one when I get it looked at, and cut it down to length for 100% engagement.
Somewhat giving up on the BW4472, too hard to find parts (32 spline conversion for 4L80E) anymore... I missed this boat by 10-15 years haha. If you can find one, it is like $800 for the input shaft, and couple hundred for adapter to bolt to 6 bolt trans adapter, just isn't worth it for me starting off with basically nothing.
