the dimming is not the problem. it's the indication of the problem, it has to be kinda bad before you'll see it. the dimming means that the electrical system can't keep up. if there is no dimming then there is still strain on the system. i don't mean to sound like it's an emergency, cuz it's not, it's just extra strain that can be easily corrected.

My deep cycle is just in the rear. Only the stereo components are powered off it. They don't have to be run down. They just don't get damaged as easy, but even deep cycles can get damaged by being run down too far.

Another option to look at is a batcap.

I understand what you mean by extra strain on my system, i just dont really want to have to add a cap in right now, or buy a new alt. for that matter. Im kinda content where its at lol. But, thats just my personal preference

by the way Cuddie, to make your posts a little more understandable i would suggest quoting the post you are commenting on, just a suggestion

Check them out on google. A lot of car audio guys love them. A smaller one of them might just be the ticket for your setup.

I pull wrenches for a living, that's what i know lol yeah didn't mean to be pushy about having a cap, just most people know nothing about them, and stereo guys usually only know where to plug in the wires and b.s. the rest haha. no offense to any stereo guys out there haha

quoting is simple just click where it says quote on the bottom of every post, it will automatically create a new post format with that quoted at the beginning.

And dont worry about being pushy lol i understand and appreciate it because it is experienced advice which i always like cause im learning something.

So basically its a smaller battery with the ability to discharge at the same rate as a normal cap?
