Project: It's about time.
I guarantee that the bearings have been in contact with water for less than 5 miles. (about 1 day) I checked the oil the day before the misfire showed up and it was fine, but I'm not going to fix / mod / keep it. The body is in rough shape (meaning dents and scratches, old bushings and bad front end parts) and the trans has issues too. It's just not worth the time and money to fix the engine just to have the trans quit the next day. (I guarantee the trans wouldn't last 5 miles with a 5.7) I love my blazer but I need transportation that I can count on.
The amount of work I'd have to do to get a 'new' trans and engine in just isn't worth it because of all the things I'd have to fix sooner rather than later.
The abs light is always coming on and going off, same with the airbag light.
The front end still needs a lot of work which may include a new PS pump. (which I suppose I could get one on the new motor)
Old sagging leafs in the rear and t-bars are sagging as well.
I'm sure all of my bushings are shot.
Needs a new idler arm again.
Lower ball joints need replacing.
The AC needs recharged again. (meaning there's a leak somewhere)
The door panels are shi**y and broken.
The oil filter lines leak.
The rear diff has moist patches around the rear axle, so that needs done too.
The shocks are bad as well.
And I'm sure there's more I'm not thinking of right now.
I mean, if I fix this, I'll still have hundreds if not thousands of dollars in repairs ahead of me. It's just not worth it to build a brand new blazer one piece at a time. Maybe in the future I'll get another one, maybe if I can find one for a good price now and get approved for a loan I'll do that, but keeping mine would be insanity on my part.

So... Here is what you do.
Park Tigger, buy a new ride.
Then... Deal with Tigger:
-Rip out the interior!
-Rip out the engine!
-Rip out the IFS!
-Rip out the rear axle!
-Get a ford 8.8 rear end from a junk yard.
-Get a dana 44+ front end from a junk yard.
-Get a 4L80E from a junkyard and have it rebuilt.
-Get an LS/T1 V8.
-Get a 411 PCM to run your monstrosity!
-Get a set of leafs from the junk yard.
-Fab or have fabbed a leaf perch setup for the front.
-Bed liner the inside of the truck on the floor and such.
-Get some worn 38"s and 10" rims on craigslist.
You will still be insane, you will probably spend less than fixing her OEM style, and you will have a bad *** truck to show for it! My truck had to go from daily driver to toy sometime after the 2nd or 3rd transmission replacement, lol! Good Luck Buddy! I love the look of the truck! (no bias)

Well it's gone.
Sold this morning (for dirt cheap).

Now I get to find a new monthly payment. Sad day for sure.
And of course, I was listening to 'Lost in paradise' by Evanescence at the time.
