alot of older motorsport cars with glass lenses do that. it so if a rock or debre hit the headlight and crack it, the glass doesnt get all over the track. i just kinda like how it looks.

so i took the old carb off, it was gummed up, sticking, and needed to be rebuilt. i had another 600 cfm carb that was in alot better condition so i swapped them.
old carb.

a carb spacer thing that didnt even match the carbs port holes. i left it off.

new carb, looks the same, but has electric choke.

i also had a new better mechanical fuel pump laying around, so i swapped them.
old pump

new pump

i didnt take pics of the distributor and ****, but, i changed the rotor, cap, coil, and distributor brain to my buddys msd stuff he pretty much gave me. the other stuff was old and wore out. my buddy had a new set of accel plugs laying around so he said i could use them.

oh man JDM as *** spark plugs! (they say japan on them, it's just a joke)

also my alternator bracket was was cracked and my alternator kept sliding loose, so we fixed the crack with a little bit of welds, and tighten my alternator up, no more squeks.

Oh I know track cars did it, just never understood why you'd do it on a street car, since it will really affect the headlights output...

You may not have noticed it, but there's a big difference.

Figure, you probably are cutting off about 20-25% of your light with tape over it like that.

so i found my sputter issue. it was cause by a fuel issue. which was cause by a rusted fuel line coming out of the tank. so we cut the rusted line off, and ran rubber hose from the metal line up to the holly blue pump and regulator in the engine bay. i ditched the old *** mechanical pump. also set the timing right, now the blazer is running GREAT! so much better then the whole time i had it.

i can post pics later.

my winter wheels, i was sick of street tires in the snow lol.

my temp gauge kept falling from the spot it was stuck at, so i taped it here until i mount it in the gauge cluster.

my new fuel pump and regulator.
