Hey, I calls 'em how i sees 'em. And i sees dirt.
Bah. Much better job than I plan to do. It's fine to sit back and pick on you because they are not my wheel wells
Wait until I 1/3 *** my job... Nothing makes a textured look quite like undercoated road grit

GET YOUR CB RADIO DONE!!! and some foglights
#143

I don't have a CB radio yet...and won't be in the market to get one for a little while yet. Who knows, maybe Santa will bring me one? lol...we can hope.
As for the fog lights...my truck came stock with fog lights, so I won't be adding anymore. The only lights I plan on adding are 4 roof lights. Again, this won't be happening for a while yet so don't be expecting it anytime soon lol. The only way I'll be adding more lights up front is if I get a bull bar.
As for the fog lights..see my comment above. I probably won't be adding anymore since I have the stock ones.

could you state the procese you used in undercoating the frame?
where you bought your undercoat and what brand?
how long it took and some simple steps?

*steals thread*
de-grease
pressure wash
(repeat 1&2 as needed)
let dry
jack up and remove tires
mask and tape
2 or more cans of rubberized undercoating = point and shoot. god a bit heavy for a pebbly look
let dry
FTW!

LMAO... I think he skipped the steps from "DE_GREASE" through to "LET DRY" lol... I could be wrong but I'm pretty sure I read that somewhere.

yes you did.... 4 posts up

There is NO need to remove the tires (unless you're undercoating your wheel wells too). Tape? why... The frame is far enough in that there is no need to tape. Remember that undercoating is not like spray paint. It's heavier and doesn't float around mysteriously like pics of your truck do (sorry, I had to get at least one dig in!! lol
). I used 1/2 a (big) can of undercoating to do my entire frame...there is no way you'd need 2 cans unless you're trigger happy. I used 3 cans TOTAL to do all of my frame, wheel wells, tow hooks, tow ball, tail light brush guards. Then again, I only did the exterior of my frame. If you plan on undercoating the bottom and inside of the frame then yes, you will have to jack your truck up. Don't waste your time masking and taping though. Undercoating can get on anything and everything underneath your truck.
BTW - Don't steal my thread again giving out false info or else I won't be taking pics at your next wedding (to that chicken you rode LOL)

BECAUSE if you are going to undercoat, you dont just do one side of 2 rails and the plastic inserts in the wheel wells... you do it right. get the axels, diffs, frame, underside of the body, etc. Not false info, just a more in depth job....
I used 3/4 of a can to do my bumper. not trigger happy, i just like my under coating THICK. it is meant to protect, and in order to do that, i like to give it more than a 4 light coat spray paint job. just my preference. The last vehicle I undercoated took 6 cans...
I disagree with the getting undercoating on everything side of this too. i dont want it on my tires, wheel assemblies, brakes, transmission, TC, rocker panels (yet) etc... there is a good amount that i like as is.

Alright, I admit it. I half assed my undercoating job lol. I think I admitted to that earlier though. Even still, I don't think that removing the wheels would be necessary for undercoating the frame. And obviously getting undercoating on the brakes (I covered mine with a sheet when I did my wheel wells) or wheel assembly, or exhaust etc. wouldn't be the best idea. I thought that would have been a given though. My point being was I don't see the need to spend all that time taping.
I was pointing out my steps anyway. Brian originally asked how I had done it, so I was under the impression that he just wanted to make the frame look good from the outside to get people like YOU *points like uncle sam* off his back LOL.
Mine was purely for looks...nothing else. Had I of done it for protection or functionality then I would have followed your steps Curtis. Minus the taping
.
