Project Maritime Blazin'
hahahaha I get on quite a bit during the day still at the office. I've become comfortable in the new job and organized enough I have some spare time between calls. Whats new with you Martin? Haven't seen you around in a while?
The lights are great. I haven't had much chance to actually put them to use yet. They point directly forward (due to the sunroof visor I have) so they aren't the freindliest thing to have on when you're driving down the road. I know other drivers wouldn't appreciate it
lol. Other then that they're working great.
Onto the build update:
I attempted to get the 4x4 fixed today, but it looks like encoder motor is shot. We're going to get it into the shop at some point to do some further testing on it to see if I do actually need a new one. It's been a year work in progress lol...but I'm getting closer to having functioning 4x4
The winter was not kind on my truck either. I went to look at the rust spots that I knew I had and lightly pushed on my drivers side...my finger went right through
. Here is the damage to both sides after I took off the paint:
Drivers side:

Passenger side:

. So it looks like body work now on my list of things to do next weekend, along with the O2 sensor. On top of all that my furnace finally died on me. It's been acting funny for a long time now, but I was hoping to keep it going until the warmer weather where I wouldn't need it. So now I have to go furnace shopping tomorrow.

And yeah it was A LOT worse then I thought. I wasn't planning on ripping half my paint off lol, but as soon as my finger went through the side I really had no choice but to keep going. Rust is a HUGE problem here.
Sucks about the rust Alex! Glad your not just patchin it up, you're doing it right! As for the two-tone, it wont look that bad on the dark blue. Not the best look, but it better than the orange rust you have now!
Yeah I could, but where I'm not actually replacing the sheet metal and only fibreglassing it I want the added durability and strength from the bed liner. Besides that it has a lot more functionality to it. It will protect when off roading and give a good rugged look to it.
Yeah you're right it sucks! lol. I'm the type of person who 1/2 asses everything, but I've learned over the years that it never works. You always end up regretting it later lol. So this is one fix I need and want to last quite a while. I'm thinking the two tone won't be all THAT bad. It will fit with the whole black/blue theme I have going on now.

Wow, those are some bad rust spots. I had similar on my 84 Sierra's roof and I also did the fiberglass. Wasn't bad, I just took my time and made sure it looked as flush as possible, and I was 16 and had no idea what I was doing. You'll have no problems with it.
